Start with some chemistry.
Maybe you want an AI girlfriend who teases you back, rather than a conversation that stays polite forever. Say that. A short line about the tone you want is a better start than hoping the character guesses.

Choose how you want the conversation to feel.
Romantic, playful and more grown-up are not all the same tone. You might enjoy a slow fictional date, or prefer direct flirting in a normal chat. There is no need to turn every conversation into a long roleplay.
Try “keep this playful” or “let’s take the scene slowly”. If you write a scene, leave the character a move to make rather than deciding both sides of the exchange.
Steer the scene when it needs it.
Generated replies sometimes skip ahead, misread a detail or settle into a tone you did not want. A short correction is usually clearer than adding a whole new scene on top of the misunderstanding.

- “Please leave my character’s actions to me.”
